How old is circe wallace

There are some corporations that have been in the game for a really long time and do get it. In snowboarding we have been so lucky. In snowboarding, women have a ton of opportunity and if they manage their careers properly can make a living and follow their dreams. With that being said, I certainly think the endemic market could do more. Her sponsor dropped her after she was injured, and by a stroke of luck, a lawyer in Seattle agreed to take her case on contingency — IF, and only if, Circe did all the work.

And, at age 25, she did. Find out what motivates her and how, for her, happiness was a choice she deemed absolutely necessary to make. It worked amazing, but it took a little bit of effort and it was hard to merchandise. Communicating that story to a retailer was completely out of the [question]; I just wanted to create something beautiful.

And then it was tough — we had the economic crash in and my stuff was kinda bougie. It was pretty flashy and it had all of this adornment. So, I definitely made some missteps, but I learned so much, and for me, it was always about making something. But for me, it was about creating something — for me — and actually kind of tapping into my own creative process.

And I think I learned a lot through that, which was really wonderful. And in retrospect, I think it was really challenging, but at the same time really illuminating as to why I was doing this in the first place and what it is that I was really hoping to achieve. So, I took a hiatus. But I took a break, I got married, I had a baby, and my husband had been really urging me to try again, and so I did.

For me, it had always been about the one-piece. And then I moved to California and I really found a lot of power in my femininity. And I started to enjoy dressing well, and that kind of evolved over the years as I became a businesswoman. And then [I wanted to] apply what I enjoyed for my daywear into what I felt was really needed on the mountain… For me, it was really like a convergence of my lives.

I did not. You said this was a step for you to invest in yourself. I guess a lot of it is that I got to a certain point in my life where I felt like growth is so important to me. There are certain points in your life where you have this kind of evolution that comes with aging or maturing, or whatever you want to call it.

But for me, it was really about continuing to push the boundaries of my comfort level. And then I started to feel just a real, almost physical need to create something that was mine. I wanted to make something beautiful to wear on the mountain and I love fashion. For me, it was kind of a converging of my lives. And I had kind of completely shut down the creative side of myself because they were my parents, and it was a struggle.

For me, I had always had this desire to have certain things that I really wanted as a young child. You know, I wanted the Jordache jeans, you know? And I had to work for that.

So, for me, it was very early on that I realized that if I worked hard for something, I could have whatever I wanted. That was the driving force where this kind of came full circle for me.

You were saying that your husband was kind of encouraging you to work on the second line? And he and I had a real whirlwind love affair. We were married within three months of meeting each other at a party.

He has lived kind of with reckless abandon in pursuing his own art, and I just respect that so much. It was so fun for me to be with someone where that was the most important thing to him; and that he was going to find success in that out, of sheer determination and desire.

Do you want to talk about the new line? I went more utilitarian this season. The silhouette is amazing. Cannabis can lead the conscious capitalism movement. Wallace: Hot knifing is basically an OG dab…the old school way to consume where we would take two butter knives on a hot coil stove, and drop hash on them, press them together and then inhale the vaporized smoke.

ATW: Why do you think the industry ignores the fact that cannabis has always been intertwined with it? ATW: You have some pretty big-name investors. How did you come together with each of them? Wallace: Many of my longtime clients are supporting this enterprise because they believe in me and the opportunity that cannabinoids provide healing modalities. The health benefits are undeniable.

We just need to be patient, which is really challenging. Wallace: None of the athletes who have invested are consumer-facing. But we intend to change perception through support of age-appropriate athletes and programs that support their athletic efforts. I do believe that cannabis is expansive and can fuel creativity, change perceptions, mellow the mind and the body.

But for now, Hot Nife is about having fun. Tune in below to find out more about how Circe went from being one of the biggest names in female snowboarding to action sports agent to the stars of snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing in a male dominated industry. As well as how she balances both careers and strives for new challenges. Circe Wallace: I started skateboarding in middle school and had a group of friends specifically, a girl, Anita and we were besties starting in middle school.

She was a little bit older than me and was a gymnast who was tired of being a gymnast. We both discovered skateboarding at the same time. At that time, you know, this was the early 80s. Skateboarding was kind of having its day. We really had a lot of freedom in Eugene, it was a small hippie college town.

So skateboarding was just our lives. We were playing hooky and skating in Eugene, which was really great. How you see the world changes. It just totally changed my perception of the world and certainly, I think it set the table for the rest of my life. Circe Wallace: 84 was the first year I went snowboarding and I had a friend in school, Sandy, who had a trust fund boyfriend named Thatcher, who had a cute Jetta.

They were into snowboarding and convinced me to come along to Hoodoo Mountain one day.
